CALL FOR PAPERS on Drug Policy

Proposals examining all aspects of the health implications of drug policy from around the world are sought, including consideration of harm reduction, co-occurring disorders, health disparities, use of psychotropic drugs in institutionalized and non-institutionalized populations, adaptive treatment strategies, provider challenges, decriminalization or health-based policy approaches, drug cartel violence, or emerging markets in producer countries.

Abstracts (250 words) of proposed papers should be submitted to Bonnie Stabile, Deputy Editor, at bstabile@gmu.edu by January 24, 2014. Authors of selected papers will be notified by February 7, 2014, and completed manuscripts should be submitted to World Medical & Health Policy at http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/wmh by April 18, 2014 for peer review.

Submitted proposals will also be considered separately for possible presentation at the Annual Forum on Drug Policy. The forum will be held in conjunction with the Midwest Political Science Association Meeting in Chicago on April 4, 2014, and is organized in cooperation with the Policy Studies Organization, the American Public University System, the Illinois Consortium on Drug Policy, and the Institute for Metropolitan Affairs at Roosevelt University, whose interim director, Kathleen Kane-Willis,kkane@roosevelt.edu, Director of the Illinois Consortium on Drug Policy, orchestrates the event.
