Call for Editor

Interested parties who wish to apply for the position of editor of Public Integrity are invited to contact the American Society for Public Administration Section on Ethics, notably the present Chair, Suzanne Piotrowski ‎[spiotrow@andromeda.rutgers.edu]‎. Applicants should be ASPA members who have made substantial contributions to the field of leadership ethics. The position will remain open until it is filled at which time the present editor (and managing editor) will transfer duties to the new editor.

The editor’s responsibilities include appointing a managing editor; retaining or appointing a book review editor(s), international editor, and exemplar profile editor; making final publication decisions on manuscripts; coordinating three-year appointments in 2016 to the 30-member Board of Editors; working with the journal’s owner, co-sponsors, and publisher; and chairing annual Board meetings at the national ASPA convention.

The editor’s home institution shall provide postage, telephone service, computer equipment, supplies, and sufficient clerical support to allow the editor to fulfill the responsibilities of the position. Appointments are for three years, subject to renewal.

Public Integrity, published by M.E. Sharpe, is a quarterly refereed journal that features research articles, commentaries, exemplar profiles, field reports, symposia, and book reviews on a broad spectrum of ethical concerns in governance.

Applications should include a detailed cover letter specifying the applicant’s qualifications, a curriculum vitae, and names of three people who can be contacted as references. Past editorial experience is desirable.
